As a Major Projects Manager you will be supporting the High Value Scheme (HVS) Director in ensuring large high rise and / or complex projects, including high value projects are effectively and efficiently risk managed. 

You will be responsible for ensuring adequate resource and planning is in place, providing support and engagement in the commercial development of your territory and working with other departments to maximise opportunities. You will manage the overall technical risk management for HVS developments and those that fall into the appropriate category requiring an enhanced audit process from initial enquiry to completion and interact with internal resource and external consultants to ensure appropriate level of competence is applied to the audit. This role is home based and requires travel, so an attractive car allowance is provided as well as a regional allowance for London and South East England (if applicable) along with a range of impressive company benefits following successful probationary sign off.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support and develop a designated team of Major Projects Surveyors, including mentoring and arranging training as required to achieve core competencies and, ensuring they work to agreed risk management standards
  • Undertake site inspections to support Major Projects Surveyors to ensure agreed risk management is being applied during construction
  • Advise and assist the Head of Building Control on the application of Building Regulations on HVS, high rise and other complex schemes
  • Contribute to Knowledge Management Articles, newsletters and technical articles and other internal reviews of the business

Experience / Skills

  • Qualified Surveyor / Engineer (MRICS, MBEng, MIStructE, or similar) and relevant post qualification experience
  • In depth technical knowledge of Building Regulations (including guidance in the Approved Documents) and other relevant construction standards including British Standards/Codes of Practice and relevant European Technical Standards
  • Technical and / or warranty experience in high rise construction techniques
  • Ability to undertake site inspections to assess both quality and the cause/effect of building defects
  • Management skills in coordinating internal and external resource in apply our risk management process
